Convenient Access from Albion
Missing teeth, worn-out dentures and long-delayed repairs are easier to face when one office can handle the whole plan. Kennebec Dental Excellence, in Winslow, is about 22 minutes from the Albion Town Office by country road, and our two general dentists place implants, build dentures and complete bone grafting in-house. For anyone who wants a dentist in Albion, ME residents can reach without the interstate, that means fewer trips and fewer handoffs.
Begin at the Albion Town Office, 22 Main Street, where US 202 and Routes 9 and 137 run through the village. Head west on Main Street for a short distance, then turn right onto Benton Road toward the northwest. It carries on as Albion Road, and at the end of the road you turn left to stay on Albion Road. A right onto Falls Road and a left onto Sebasticook Bridge Road (Route 139) take you across the Sebasticook River.
Next, turn left onto Clinton Avenue, where Routes 11 and 100 join Route 139, and bear right onto Neck Road. A left onto River Road brings you south into Winslow, where the road becomes Benton Avenue. The full trip is about 11.5 miles, mostly on two-lane roads, and our office at 464 Benton Ave, Winslow, ME 04901 appears on the right near Central Maine Veterans Memorial Park.
Pin us on Google Maps before you leave, since several turns come in quick succession. Neighbors in China and Benton have pages with their own routes.
Small-Town Albion, Close to Winslow
Albion is a quiet Kennebec County town of about 2,000 people spread over nearly 40 square miles. It shares its western line with Winslow, and its other neighbors include Benton, China, Unity, Freedom and Palermo. Most of the town's water is in Lovejoy Pond, which covers about 379 acres.
The name came late. Settlers arrived in 1790 at what was called Freetown Plantation, the town was incorporated as Fairfax in 1804, renamed Ligonia in 1821 and finally became Albion in 1824. In 1895 the two-foot-gauge Wiscasset and Quebec Railroad reached the village, which served as the line's northern terminus.
Village life still centers on Main Street. The Albion Public Library, founded in 1981, moved to Main Street in 2002 and was renovated and expanded in 2021, with solar panels powering it. The Town of Albion runs its business on the same street, right where the drive to our office begins.
Younger children attend Albion Elementary School in MSAD 49, and older students move on to the district's Lawrence Junior High and Lawrence High School. Households here are used to driving for errands, so combining appointments can save real time.
Rebuilding Smiles for Albion Adults
Adults who have lost a tooth or two often live with the gap for years. Over time, nearby teeth drift, the bite shifts and the jawbone under the empty space slowly shrinks. Replacing a tooth sooner keeps more options open, whether that is an implant, a bridge or a partial denture.
Planning starts with the right picture. Our office uses Cone Beam CT 3D imaging to measure the bone and map nerves and sinuses, then places implants with a surgical guide built from that scan. If the bone has thinned, grafting or a sinus lift is done in our own office first, so patients do not need to travel farther for the preliminary steps.
For people missing most of their teeth, dentures remain a practical choice, and our dentists help patients compare them with implant options. When teeth are worn, cracked and heavily filled all at once, full-mouth rehabilitation pulls crowns, bridges, implants and gum care into one coordinated plan. Each stage is mapped out before it begins, so you know how many visits to expect.
Fear stops many adults from starting any of this. Complimentary mild oral sedation is offered at no charge, with vital signs monitored continuously, and a friend or family member simply drives you home afterward.
Treatment From a Dentist in Albion, ME Patients Can Rely On
Dental Implants
An implant acts as a new root for a single crown or a bridge. Guided placement, planned from a 3D scan, keeps each step precise from consultation to final tooth.
Bone Grafting
When a tooth has been gone a while, the bone may need rebuilding before an implant. Grafting is done in our Winslow office, with no outside surgical referral.
Restorative Dentistry
Crowns, bridges and tooth-colored fillings bring damaged teeth back into service. CEREC same-day crowns are milled in the office, sparing rural patients a second drive.
Sedation Dentistry
Mild oral sedation eases anxiety for longer procedures such as implants or several crowns. It costs nothing extra, though you will need someone to drive.
Preventive Dentistry
Cleanings and exams protect the teeth you still have and the work you invest in. Regular checkups also keep implants and crowns in good shape for years.
Meet Your Winslow Dentists
Implants, grafting, dentures, crowns and bridges are all part of everyday work for Dr. Jeff Bue, who keeps pursuing advanced training in implant and sedation dentistry. Dr. James Guilbault, DMD, trained in implant surgery during his General Practice Residency in Syracuse, and full-mouth rehabilitation is one of his special interests. Together they plan larger cases as a team rather than splitting them between offices.
Insurance, Membership & Financing
Bigger treatment plans are easier to manage when payments are spread out, and Proceed Finance and Cherry both make that possible. We also accept most major insurance companies, including Ameritas, United Healthcare and Delta Dental. New patients without insurance and without gum disease can begin with the $249 Cleaning, Exam & X-Ray.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Kennebec Dental Excellence from Albion, and how do I get there?
We are roughly 11.5 miles from the Albion Town Office, a drive of about 22 minutes. The route follows Benton Road and Albion Road northwest, crosses the Sebasticook on Route 139, then takes Neck Road and River Road south. Patients choosing a dentist in Albion, ME will find our office on the right on Benton Avenue.
Is an implant or a bridge better for replacing one missing tooth?
An implant is often the better long-term choice when the bone is healthy. It stands on its own, so the neighboring teeth are not filed down to hold it, and it helps preserve the jawbone. A bridge can be quicker and suits some situations well. Our dentists compare both after a 3D scan shows the bone you have.
How should I care for a new dental implant?
Treat it much like a natural tooth: brush twice a day, clean between teeth daily and keep up with regular checkups. Implants cannot decay, but the gums and bone around them can become inflamed if plaque builds up. Professional cleanings and exams let our dentists check the implant, the crown and the surrounding gum over the years.
Can several worn or broken teeth be fixed as one treatment plan?
Yes. Full-mouth rehabilitation combines crowns, bridges, implants and gum care into a single coordinated plan instead of patching one tooth at a time. Our dentists map out the order and number of visits before work begins, and Proceed Finance or Cherry can spread the cost. Mild sedation is also available for the longer appointments.
Can our family book checkups back to back on one morning?
Yes, and doing so saves your household extra trips. Let the front desk know how many people need a visit, and we will try to line up the appointments in a row. Starting at 8:00 AM, or on a Friday morning before we close at 2:00 PM, keeps everyone's day mostly free.
